Holes are countersunk for #10 pan head screws
All Stanchion bases are pre-drilled with two holes for required #10 deck fasteners. Set screw versions include 1/4" - 28 cone point set screws for connection to tubing . Counterbore versions have predrilled holes for #10 pan head fasteners

Based on tests done to the ASTM B117 method suggest a 316 type part could be expected to pass a 300 hour test using a 0.3% salt spray
